Institute presentation

The Bioreactor Group, Division of Experimental Surgery, is associated to the Berlin Brandenburg Center for Regenerative Therapies (BCRT) at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. The Group focuses on the development of complex bioreactor technologies for clinical or in vitro research. We work on liver cell culture models for in vitro pharmacological studies, bioreactors for 3D expansion and differentiation of stem cells, and cell-based devices for extracorporeal organ assist. Different scales of the technology are available from large-scale bioreactors for clinical use to small-scale analytical bioreactors for in vitro research.
